ISIS militants today released a video depicting the beheading of journalist James Wright Foley, who was kidnapped in 2012. Describing it as a message to America, which has provided air support to Kurds and Iraqi forces battling the insurgent group, ISIS also threatened to kill Steven Sotloff, another captive American.
Foley, 39, was taken while reporting in Syria and held in the region since. In the horrifying and graphic footage, he is seen on his knees in the desert, reading a statement before a masked man uses a knife to execute him.
The video was released on YouTube and promptly removed, but not before proliferating on Twitter and elsewhere. Though it has not been verified, it is extremely graphic and I recommend strongly that you do not watch it.
