Fake "consumer" iTunes gaming apps review case settled with FTC

PR firm Reverb Communications got paid to put a bunch of glowing "consumer" reviews on iTunes. In a closely-watched case, the Federal Trade Commission brought charges under new regulations applied to online advertising. "Advertisers should not pass themselves off as ordinary consumers touting a product, and endorsers should make it clear when they have financial connections to sellers."
