Jacob Soboroff of NBC News has been covering the story of migrant kids separated from their families by Trump's violent policy at the Mexico border. Soboroff is in Florida today, where he stopped by a “temporary” HHS shelter for unaccompanied minors who entered the United States illegally.
“It’s still open,” Soboroff says.
“Trump administration sent many separated kids here during zero tolerance. Around 50 of them are still inside. 528 total remain separated.”

Early childhood developmental psychologists say what we're seeing in videos like the ACLU clip below is 'severe attachment injury' in the child. This is irreparable, violent harm to a child. Imagine the pain of one kid. Multiply that by hundreds.
528 kids still separated.
Reminder: The consequences of family separation will far out-last this administration.

In this new joint filing, @ACLU reports additional data:
➡️ 412 already-deported parents with kids in US.
➡️ Phone numbers provided by Trump administration for 38 are no good.
➡️ 140 not reachable at numbers provided.
➡️ No phone numbers for 41.What a mess. pic.twitter.com/760aWKuQVd

She was just a baby.
Just because putting babies in cages isn't on the front page anymore doesn't mean the horror has ended for these families.

We see this ALL THE TIME in family detention. Kids are sick — and treated with water and Tylenol. For days/weeks. We have seen kids with persistent fevers for 2 months, 2yo's throwing up blood, contagious bacterial infections not treated for 4 months, kidney failure… ignored. https://t.co/9mXOUcNr8q
