Today was health record day in the 2016 US presidential campaign news cycle. After an embarrassing round of press involving Hillary Clinton's pneumonia diagnosis, the Democratic nominee's team released some medical reports. Dr. Lisa Bardack says "she is in excellent mental condition," and is “healthy and fit to serve as president.”
A statement Wednesday afternoon from Clinton's campaign quotes the candidate's longtime physician, who visited with Clinton at her home on Wednesday, as saying that Clinton’s physical exam “was normal."
Clinton had a chest CT scan last Friday, which showed she had pneumonia. Doctors later narrowed that down further as non-contagious bacterial pneumonia for which Clinton will be treated with Levaquin for 30 days. Her team says she has “no other undisclosed condition.”
ABC News, quoting Dr. Bardack:
She adds that Clinton, who takes a handful of medications, including for her thyroid, is “recovering well with antibiotics and rest” and that “she continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States. A statement released last summer said her "current medical conditions include hypothyroidism and seasonal pollen allergies."
According to the statement released today, Clinton's lab work was normal, she has a blood pressure of 100/70 and has had a normal mammogram and breast ultrasound.
The release of this information comes three days after the Democratic presidential nominee, 68, abruptly left a 9/11 memorial ceremony in New York City. Her campaign initially said her early departure was due to Clinton being “overheated.” However after video surfaced showing the former secretary of state struggling to walk, the campaign then revealed she had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.
Separately, Republican Presidential nominee and noted racist shitbag Donald Trump appeared on medical quack Dr. Mehmet Oz's TV informercial show. Trump weighs 267 pounds, and is considered obese by the leftwing haters at the National Institutes of Health.
If Trump wins, let the record show that I called it: Mehmet Oz for Surgeon General.
I’d believe this new Clinton medical information. But, alas, it wasn’t told to Dr. Oz and didn’t come from this guy pic.twitter.com/IoWU7tLWlP
