Mother cat who lost three babies adopts three orphaned kittens

When her three newborn kittens died after being born prematurely, Mikey the cat was inconsolable.

But when a Texas cat rescue organization called Dori's Darlings heard about her plight, they had the perfect solution: They'd just received three orphaned kittens who were only days old, and happened to need a mother.

According to the Huffington Post, when Mikey was introduced to the three kittens, she immediately began nuzzling them, nursing them, and adopting them as her own.

After two hours, Amanda knew that with Mikey cuddling her new kittens, bathing them, and falling asleep with them, that she was leaving a very happy mama cat and giving the abandoned kittens a new home. She said they even looked like they belonged to one another.
