Dan Meth was watching a DVD of Naked City and noticed a copy of the comic, Amazing Fantasy #15, on a newsstand in one of the scenes. It sold for 12 cents when it was published in August 1962. Today it's worth at least $3000 in mint condition.
So I rented a DVD of the early 60's crime TV show "The Naked City", which is famous for being filmed on the streets of New York City. Well, in this one episode, there is a scene that takes place in front of a newstand and look what is clearly hanging from a wall in the background; Spiderman. But not just any Spiderman comic… it's THE VERY FIRST APPEARANCE of Spiderman ever. Amazing Fantasy #15.

I suggest you read the rest of this email in the Comic Book
Guy voice: your post on the Spider-Man comic visable in Naked City
gives a wildly low value for the book. A Near-Mint copy of Amazing
Fantasy 15 guides at $43,000, somewhat more the $3,000 you suggest.
The "third best copy known" sold for $122,000 in 2004. Of course if
Burgess Meredith had purchased the copy shown, he wouldn't have a mint
copy because it had been clothespinned to a wire! And without getting
too nerdy, as if that is even possible at this point, the comic to the
right of the Amazing Fantasy is the first apperance of Thor, which
guides for another $11,000. A pretty impressive pair of books
considering you could have purchased both and still received change
from your quarter!
