My favorite hacker space, San Francisco's Noisebridge, is seeking donations via Indiegogo to fix its electrical system, repair tools, create a new audio/video workspace, and generally upgrade the facility!
My 8-year-old son and I have had a terrific time making and learning at Noisebridge and these improvements will only, well, improve what's already an inspiring and educational community autonomous zone!
Established in 2007, Noisebridge has been a welcoming hacker workspace in the Mission District of San Francisco for both the local and national hacker community, as well as hosting hackers from all around the world. Our philosophy is simple: Be excellent to each other. Noisebridge lives up to this credo by providing the workspace, access to tools, mentoring, and education that can change peoples lives. 3D printing, coding, science, art, music, robotics, neurohacking, biohacking, and much much more. From basic soldering to advanced programming classes, many thousands of people have utilized and benefited from the open-door policy Noisebridge maintains. But that takes money.
