David Moore from participatoryculture.org says,

MediaRights has opened up a very cool project using "Democracy" internet TV. This open-submissions documentary project presents videos from around the United States of recent immigrants' rights events.

At this site, visitors can watch videos from around the country of recent demonstrations around the issue of immigration and the Congressional bill HR4437.

More importantly, on this "open channel" on the MediaRights site, anyone can link to their own videos from today's May 1st actions or other recent rallies (such as the amazing March 25th events in L.A.), creating an open-access internet TV channel that forms a national picture of local events.

It's a perfect example of how open internet TV works as participatory, community media. With open tools for self-publishing, anyone can become an independent media hub and distribute video of their local event to mass audiences over the web (basically for free).
