Los Angeles: premier tonight of Syd Garon's new film about N.A.S.A. the band

Our dear pal Syd Garon, hypertalented director of such classics as Wave Twisters and Somebody Goofed, is premiering his new film tonight at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. (Click the flier image to see it larger.) Co-directed by Sam Spiegel, the film is a documentary/animation hybrid about the band N.A.S.A. Check out the excerpt above or two of Syd's N.A.S.A. videos on Boing Boing Video here and here. Syd says:

Flux 8211The premiere is tonight August 2nd at The Hammer Museum in West L.A. It's part of the Flux Screening Series and the show starts 8pm on the dot. It's a documentary about the band N.A.S.A. and the making of their epic first record, it's chock full of interesting characters and has tons of animation. N.A.S.A. will play a DJ set with Fat Lip, there will be custom t-shirts screened live, food, drinks, drinks with booze in them, Spike Jonze will screen his new Beastie Boys video, a photo booth, I wouldn't be surprised if there is free wifi. It's free and open to the public.

The shirts are fun, there will be 6 design elements and you get to combine and place them anywhere on the shirt. Hit and Run will pull the screens while you wait. Bring your own dark colored shirt and it's free, American Apparel shirts will be sold at cost, I think it's a tenner.
