Ten years ago, we showed you a method for baking cookies on your car dashboard on hot days while you're at work, filling your car with delicious baking smells and a tray of warm cookies for the commute home.
Now, as the climate emergency deepens, car cookies are making a comeback, with the Nebraska Weather Service livetweeting its attempt to bake biscuits on a car dashboard amid an unprecedented midwestern heat-wave. The pan reached 185' F, and after 8 hours, the "slightly doughy" cookies had reached an internal temperature of 144.5' F.
If you are wondering if it's going to be hot today, we are attempting to bake biscuits using only the sun and a car in our parking lot. We will keep you posted with the progress. Stay cool! #newx #iawx pic.twitter.com/cXZgdRIgcK
