$80K in donations for hot dog vendor after cop takes money during bust

While attending a Cal Berkeley football game, Martin Flores witnessed a cop shutting down an unlicensed street vendor, taking cash from his wallet and citing him.

This is the official go fund me account for justice4Juan the hotdog vendor at UC Berkeley. The funds raised will be utilized to cover legal and personal loses. In addition, funds in excess are to cover other vendors who have been robbed of their hard earned living through citations and removal of their carts. It is my goal to locate Juan in Berkeley. Any and all help to support and locate him is welcome. On Saturday, September 9, 2017 I took my children to enjoy a Cal Beekeley football game. We had a great time. After the game I promised them that I would support the hotdog vendors by buying food from them. I captured this video as we were interrupted by UC Berkeley Police officer. Thank you for your compassion to support this effort.

Following the great response, he added:

I want to take this time to thank everyone who has been supportive. I want to announce that we have decided to do the check presentation to Beto aka “Juan the Hotdog Street Vendor” on Saturday, September 23, 2017. After careful and thoughtful consideration, we have decided to do in Berkeley. All funds will be going to Beto (minus the fees that GoFundMe charges). It has been Beto’s dream to own a Food Truck. Let’s help make this a reality. More details on time and specific location will be shared depending on the anticipated attendance
Muchas Gracias

With luck, they will get Beto all set up with proper permits and food safety needs.
