On Super Bowl sunday, I usually can be found bowling with friends instead of watching football. We dress up in superhero costumes and award each other silly trophies that we’ve created just for the occasion. We actually call it the “Super Bowl,” because, well, bowling.
Honestly though, I’ve never put much thought into getting better at the actual game. This video by Vox shows how serious pro bowlers get about the nearly-hidden oil patterns on the lanes. By paying attention to this oil, they’re able to strategize how to hit the “pocket,” that sweet spot between pins that makes them all fall down.
I had no idea.
