I just ordered a thermal cooker, they sound like wonderful camping tools. Anyone got recipe suggestions?
Thermal cookers are pretty neat. A super low maintenance slow cooker! Basically a thermal cooker is a big insulated food jar, into which you place cooking, hot food in and let sit.
The 6 liter version I ordered has two internal pots, so I can prepare two dishes at the same time. Complimentary stuff like rice in pot 1 and stew in pot 2 seems pretty awesome. Has anyone tried this? Got any suggestions?
I went with this model because it is cheap and that seems the right approach for camping. I also didn't think the extra dollars were going to make a lot difference in heat retention if I spent them.
This seems like an awesome way to set a meal cooking at the campsite, while I go off and have an adventure. Not unlike Adventure Breakfast.
I also understand that brown rice comes out perfect every time.
