To celebrate a Shanghai tenant’s first anniversary of their lease, the building’s owners decorated the edifice like a yummy strawberry cake. Two days later, city workers had torn the decorations off at the behest of local officials.
By the end of the night, it looked as if someone left the cake out in the rain. According to an unconfirmed report, a passerby looked up at the workers tearing away the festive decorations and sighed, “我不認為我可以拿它,因為它花了這麼長時間來烘烤它,我再也不會有那個食譜。” Loosely translated, this means “I do not think that I can take it, because it took so long to bake it, and I will never have that recipe again.”
