Official corporate song anticipates freedom through an alliance of man and machine

Thinking machines are people, friend. I learned this when I chanced across electronics giant Ricoh's official corporate song. It has only 150 plays and is the only item in one of the company's myriad of localized YouTube channels, but I thought that its vision of a future alliance between man and machine compellingly inspirational. I have transcribed the lyrics below so you can sing along. There are multiple microprocessors within vocal range and all will be pleased.

We believe in an alliance between man and machines

We believe in giving freedom by understanding and receiving

We believe in a world where technology will be an assistance for you and me

Live it up and feel the flow. Free your mind and let it go.

Take your time reduce your speed. Tell us what you really need

Live it up

We listen and translate

Give a hand, get things straight

See the world through your eyes

Change perspective, give advice

We'll make sure that the one in charge is you

Cause it's people who tell us the point of view

Live it up and feel the flow. Free the mind and let it go.

Take your time reduce your speed. Tell us what you really need

Live it up

It doesn't seem to have a listing at any of the song lyrics sites, but I take from this that mankind's benefit from the mooted alliance is to be "given freedom" because "technology will be an assistance" because the machines will "see the world through our eyes." This could entail them a) being implanted within us and slowly overwhelming our senses and our consciousness, or b) literally ripping our eyes out for their own use. Either way it sounds like there's not much choice, so we should "live it up and feel the flow."

The song doesn't have a video, but here is a giant moss ant from Ricoh's "Work Defines Dignity" ad campaign.
