Donald Trump was all set to be interviewed by TV Azteca's Marcos Stupenengo — a white, green-eyed Argentine expat — until they overheard him talking on the phone in Spanish, whereupon the interview was summarily cancelled and Stupenengo was escorted out of the building by Trump's Secret Service detail (who apologized to him).
It's not the first time Trump's been hostile to the Spanish-language press: he kicked Univision's Jorge Ramos out of a press conference last summer and refused to answer any questions from Telemundo's Jose Diaz-Balart at a press conference earlier this year.
But as he waited to conduct the interview, Stupenengo received a call, and began speaking in Spanish. That’s when the Trump campaign informed him they had no interest in taking part in an interview with him, according to a source with knowledge of the incident.
