Auction of amazing, rare castoffs from Disney theme parks

Having raised $1.7M from an auction of Disneyland memorabilia and rarities earlier this year, Van Eaton Galleries are holding a second auction of cast-offs from the Disney themeparks.

The highlight of this auction is a Peoplemover car that is expected to go for over $200,000, and would make an amazing breakfast nook. There’s also a really nice selection of original memos and policy documents for Disneyland exhibitors, WED stationery, passes and tickets, ads, etc. Pricier items will be the original concept art including art for the Monsanto House of the Future and the Space Mountain show building.

I’m most interested in the textiles and artifacts: Frontierland-themed Mickey Mouse club costumes, a Haunted Mansion butler’s uniform, a real skybucket and Space Mountain ride vehicle, and a Haunted Mansion intrusion detection status panel (squee!).

The PeopleMover car is expected to go for $200,000, the Rocket to the Moon poster for $15,000, and the Dumbo concept art by original Imagineer Bruce Bushman for $5,000 to $7,000.
