Randal S. Olson is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania Institute for Biomedical Informatics, but he likes to create fun data projects on the side. His Baby Name Explorer web app lets you look up your name and find out what year it was most popular.

Weird names like “Xeni” aren’t in the database, but many more common American names are. It’s not super scientifically perfect but it’s a fun tool.
