Perfect for getting anything I'm baking on my baking stone into or out of the oven, this aluminum pizza peel really comes in handy.
Every few years I destroy a wooden pizza peel. I bake a lot, and my daughter would live solely on pizza if allowed. While I can usually slide a loaf of bread or pizza onto a regular cutting board from the stone, getting them into the oven is a hell of a lot easier with a peel. In the past, I've always bought wooden peels, but this aluminum one is likely the last I'll ever need.
A peel is just a handled cutting board, and if you serve directly from it (like me,) the wooden ones get stained, and over time washing leaves them warped. Eventually they die, the cracks and scoring marks from slicing the pizza get too deep to clean well, or the board just falls apart. The aluminum board should last me forever.
The thin edge of the aluminum peel is also a huge win! I can slide the peel, easily, directly under the pizza without having to lift it, or as I was used to doing, pushing the pizza off the stone with a spatula, to slide it onto the thicker wooden peel. The aluminum peel will cut a stuck pizza right off the stone.
Make baking pizza at home a little easier, use the right tools!
