Morten Grønning has been experimenting with gloves fitted with small motorized sanders, and it seems it has some potential for new ways to shape materials as it gets more refined.
Not sure if it will ever be as good as non-motorized gloves or the host of sanding attachments available for power drills, but it’s worth a try! Here’s a quick test done by a sculptor using one of the protoypes:
