Airbnb CEO shares VC rejection emails from 2008

Airbnb's Brian Chesky posted the rejection letters he received from investors in June 2008 when he was trying to raise $150,000 at a $1.5M valuation, meaning someone could have owned 10% of Airbnb for $150,000. The company is currently valued at $20 billion.

He pitched 7 investors; five declined and two didn't respond.

"The investors that rejected us were smart people, and I am sure we didn’t look very impressive at the time," Chesky writes.
