Construction Robotics developed this bricklaying robot SAM (Semi-Automated Mason) after addressing two key challenges: mortar application and onsite variables that can hinder precision.
SAM is deisgned to compensate for fluctuations in wind, settling or compression of soil, and human activity around the robot. Robots like these hold significant promise for reducing the time and costs in creating affordable buildings. A human mason works with the robot to ensure consistency and safety of the building process.
They have some other interesting stuff on their site, like their trip to the World of Concrete convention!
