President Obama finally gets Twitter, has dorky first tweet

President Obama launched his official Twitter page today under the handle @POTUS

, naturally. His profile reads: "Dad, husband, and 44th President of the United States." Befitting that dad moniker, his first tweet was adorably dorky.

According to The White House:

The @POTUS Twitter account will serve as a new way for President Obama to engage directly with the American people, with tweets coming exclusively from him. President Obama is committed to making his Administration the most open and participatory in history, and @POTUS will give Americans a new venue to engage on the issues that matter most to them.

Of course, First Lady Michelle Obama has been using her own @FLOTUS account since 2013, proving she's always one step ahead of the game.
