Save your guitar with Schaller Strap Locks

Schaller Guitar Strap Locks and Buttons (Pair) Nickel

Strap related malfunctions have damaged more of my guitars than I’d like to admit. Sturdy and attractive Schaller Strap Locks are the answer!

Guitar straps never seemed to hold up my guitar. The strap would invariably pop off the silly little button set into the body of my electric guitars. Worse yet, the buttons would be set with screws too short to take the weight of the guitar and break the horns or body. I didn’t want to be applying wood filler to my Fender Jazzmaster, so I bought I set of these Schaller Strap Locks. They are fantastic!

Simply remove the old button and screw in the new ones in, one at the tail and one up near the neck. The Schallers come with longer screws than the stock buttons on my guitar, but it all went together by hand. You then affix the the Strap Locks to your strap. The locks bolt, with some wide, flat washers, right on to your strap ends. Rather than having the leather soften and the opening stretch over time, leaving your treasured guitar on the ground, these washers hold the lock on tight. A simple spring loaded pin holds the lock to the button, once you slide it on. The lock rotates easily on the button, active guitarists may feel set free to jump around like its Van Halen all over again.

I tried Dunlop brand locks on a different guitar. They are not built to the same quality as the Schallers and didn’t feel like they’d distribute the weight as well, over time. The nickel used on the Schallers is also just nicer.

These Schaller Strap Locks serve me well.
