Fox makes a sandwich in Chernobyl

Wow, I guess the radiation inside the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone really has affected animals in mysterious ways: by creating mutant, sandwich-making foxes.

A news crew from Radio Free Europe was visiting the site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, in Ukraine, and they saw a fox.

They offered him some of the food they’d brought on the trip to eat themselves–because when you’re traveling in contaminated areas, even if you could find food produced there, you don’t want to eat it. The news crew placed pieces of bread and meat on the ground for the fox.

Instead of devouring the pieces as they were tossed, the fox kind of stacked them all up into a sweet 5-layer sandwich. The animal seemed very unafraid of them. Animals in the area don’t really tend to be afraid of people, because so few people visit the area.
