WATCH: Rainworks, street art that only appears visible when wet

I’m a big fan of street art in general, but Seattle-based artist Peregrine Church has created one of the coolest projects I’ve ever seen.

Using water-repellent coating and stencils, he makes invisible sidewalk art that only appears when it rains. According to Church, the purpose of his work is simply, “To make people smile on rainy days.” (Which, of course, happens quite a lot in Seattle.) Church has a whole collection of his work—as well as a map of where to find it—up on his website.
