US sales of “luxury” toilet paper — that which is quilted, lotioned, perfumed, ultra-soft, or multi-ply — hit $1.4 billion last year and sales are now growing faster than plain ol’ TP.
“Higher growth is expected out of the luxury segment as the improved economy allows consumers to satisfy their desire for comfort,” wrote analysts from Euromonitor International. “While the idea of … luxury toilet paper may be slightly odd, (its) performance suggests otherwise.”
While the 100 Dollar Bill Toilet Roll seen here looks quite luxurious, I bet it chafes.
