Our friend Drew of “Blame Drew’s Cancer” was diagnosed with Hodgin’s Lymphoma in 2009. He has been living happily in remission for years. But now, the cancer is back. He needs a bone marrow match to save his life.
As with his earlier social media experiment during round 1, Drew is behind a new, pioneering web project related to cancer. Swabface.com.
“Kestrin Pantera came to me with the idea and it blew me away,” Drew tells Boing Boing. “It’s the obvious evolution of #blamedrewscancer. For me and for other cancer fighters.”
“Swabbing to join the registry not only saves lives—-it’s fun,” he says. “Get a kit now and show us your #swabface.”
Follow the project with the hashtag #swabface. And join in. You may save Drew’s life, or the life of another person with blood cancers like leukemia, or sickle cell anemia, and other diseases.
You can learn more about how it works at bethematch.org.
