Disney Research teamed with ETH Zürich students to create Beachbot, a robot that creates pre-programmed sand drawing.
Beachbot pulls a rake on which each tine can be individually controlled. This allows for creating thicker or thinner lines. According to the researchers:
Beachbot is just one of Disney Research's projects in the area of mobile robotics, including work on path-planning, robot choreography, localization, and human-robot interaction.
BeachBot also operates manually, to turn any beach into a giant Etch-A-Sketch. Can't wait for CropCircleBot!
