I’m back to reading about zombies! Peter Meredith’s The Apocalypse is a very different take on the standard zombie story.
Rather than scare you with the zombies, Peter Meredith does a wonderful job of showing the social, economic and political structures in the United States fall apart under the zombie menace. He scares you with Americans (and some other folks to be fair.) The story telling is clear, concise and matter-of-fact. His characters are more real-to-life, their responses more human and mistake prone, than I am used to from other .99 Kindle reads. The story is the always same, regardless the interesting buildup and manner in which the zombie apocalypse begins, zombies are everywhere and the government can’t hold back the storm.
Fast paced and engrossing, I read The Apocalypse in a single sitting. I’m looking forward to more.
