This feature AARP ran is notable in that it contains such a breathtaking abundance of cancer clichés. From “cancer is a gift” to “I turned on my [cancer-causing] genes with my poor diet,” nearly every scrap of tired old victim-blaming bullshit and woo quackery has been crammed into this piece. A basic understanding of high school level science is all that’s needed to fact-check this article as being total crap.
