Kickstarting A is for Zebra, subversive alphabets by Crap Hound's Sean Tejaratchi

It's a twisted, genius alphabet book in the style of Tejaratchi's (more) wonderful found-art collage zine Crap Hound, and published by the brilliant Portland zine store Reading Frenzy; $20 gets you your own copy.

In 2005 we starting publishing Crap Hound for our pal, Sean Tejaratchi. Sean made a beautiful set of Crap Hound-esque alphabet prints for us, and we’re now ready to turn them into a book! A is for Zebra is an all-ages* alphabet, activity, and art book, intended for lovers of graphic design, typography, alphabets, word play, and vintage commercial art. Each page features a single brightly colored letter of the alphabet surrounded by dozens of (mostly) vintage black and white illustrations depicting words that begin with that letter. From obvious to obscure, there's fun for the whole family in identifying the images! Answers are included in the back of the book.

The artwork for the book is already complete; all we need to do is raise the money to pay for printing and shipping to our customers! The $12,500 goal will cover $9K in printing fees for 2500 copies, plus shipping & handling to backers, and project fees (10%). Pre-order the book from us during our Kickstarter project and you'll receive free shipping (US only)!

*May be considered slightly subversive/borderline inappropriate for children if you don't want them to learn words like "ashtray" and “urinal".
