Fruit Tramp photos

I came across this photo of a “fruit tramp” on Shorpy. I wasn’t familiar with the term so I googled it. Fruit tramps were migrant workers during the great depression.

Above left, a photo of a fruit tramp family, taken by Dorothea Lange. Above right, the cover of a book called Fruit Tramp Kids, billed as a “true Christian adventure for kids ages 9-12.” They sure look happier than the family in Lange’s photo!
