(updated) Cormac McCarthy's ex-wife threatened man with handgun pulled from vagina… plus space aliens!

(UPDATE BELOW)

Cormac McCarthy’s ex-wife Jennifer McCarthy was arrested on Saturday for threatening her boyfriend with a handgun she pulled from her vagina after a heated argument about space aliens. She was charged with aggravated assault. From The Smoking Gun:

McCarthy’s boyfriend told investigators that following the argument (about the aliens) McCarthy departed her Aventura Road residence. Upon returning to the home, he told deputies, McCarthy went into her bedroom and later emerged “wearing lingerie and a silver handgun in her vagina.” She then proceeded to “have inner course with the gun,” according to the court filing.

While using the gat as a sex toy, McCarthy reportedly asked her boyfriend, “Who is crazy, you or me?”

Novelist’s Ex In Bizarre Handgun Threat Arrest

UPDATE

On 9/28/14, Jennifer McCarthy emailed Boing Boing:

The case was dismissed with prejudice on July 9th 2014.

The accusations against me were false. Unfortunately, the responding officer chose to believe my attacker’s bizarre and salacious story simply because I was not initially forthcoming about my ex-boyfriend’s attack on me. However, I was not unusual in recanting my statement as up to 90% of victims of domestic violence end up trying to protect their abusers. It is unfortunate that so many in the media and the public attributed credibility to a semi-literate court document based on its outlandishness, as if absurdity were a genuine measure of authenticity. Thank goodness science and medicine do not form theories and conclusions in the same manner.

As a side note, in February I passed a polygraph exam with a score of +18. A passing score is +6. The questions on the exam verified my version of events, which included that I was strangled and hit by Mr. Paleologo and that I never placed a weapon inside of or near my genitals nor did I point it at my attacker.

I write to you now as it has taken me quite some time to pick myself up, dust myself off and gather the courage to speak out about what happened to me.
