The story was also a Locus Poll Award (Place: 6), and 1979 Nebula Award nominee. It was also one of Locus magazine’s 50 best science fiction short stories of all time. It was first published in the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction. The story is a modern take on the Greek mythological figure Cassandra who had the gift of prophecy and was only the second published story by C.J. Cherryh. The narration is by Nicola Seaton-Clark and art by David Demaret.
