Hello again, Happy Mutants! Please take a moment to read our new Terms of Service and Privacy Policy describing your (and our) behavior and rights related to content, privacy, and laws!
Our aim was to develop policies that embody what we consider to be the best practices around transparency, copyright, security, and privacy within the real world constraints of running our online publishing company primarily supported by advertising. And, it was essential that our policies be written in language that everyone can understand, particularly those of us without law degrees. Fortunately, our pals at the Electronic Frontier Foundation referred us the brilliant Lauren Gelman of Blurry Edge Strategies! Lauren previously served as the Executive Director of Stanford Law School’s Center for Internet and Society, the Public Policy Director in Washington DC for the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Most recently, Lauren and BlurryEdge overhauled the privacy policy governing Reddit’s own sprawling community. She knows this stuff like nobody else. And we appreciate all of the time that Lauren and her colleague Cari Spivack spent working through the myriad details with us.
So, please take 5 minutes to understand the legalities involved when using our site by reading our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We also have new Community Guidelines for the Boing Boing BBS forums launching today.
Thank you all for your continued support of Boing Boing!
