3D printed visor sunglasses, for the sexy welder or glamorous spycam-evader in your life

Eyeglass frames designer Mykita recently launched a line of 3D polyamide printed sports frames, Mykita Mylon, which includes the "Daisuke" visor style frame shown here. I spotted them during a visit to Julia Gogosha, owner of Gogosha Optique in Los Angeles, yesterday.

I may not be bold enough to wear them, but I love the idea. As Cory said when I forwarded my Vine to him last night, "like a fashion-conscious welder!" I imagine some young hacker-fabulous protagonist in one of Cory's novels wearing them to outsmart surveillance cameras on urban streets. Or a fashionista astronaut, wearing them out for a stroll on Mars.

Julia kindly obliged my request for a modeling session, below.

Eye Spectacle blog has a post with more details on the 3D printing process behind these frames.

If you're in Los Angeles Saturday, and you like this vibe, Gogosha is hosting a Mykita trunk show Saturday June 22, 11-7, with a bunch of new designs from the Berlin-based optical firm. No, they're not all quite this outlandish.

Of *course* they're made in Berlin. Another cool frame in Gogosha's shop, modeled by Gogosha herself, in the second Vine below. These goggle-sunnies reminded me of Cory's style.
