What If You Had a Double?

Is it possible that there's another Earth out there, just like ours, populated with carbon copies of every person on our planet – including yourself? How would you feel if there was another you out there with the same features, hair, habits and personality?

Parallel universes aren't out of the realm of possibility, according to some of the world's leading theoretical physicists. That's why it's not so much of a stretch to make it the premise of the new Fox Searchlight Pictures feature "Another Earth," set for a July 22 limited release.

A favorite at this year's Sundance Film Festival and winner of the Audience Award at the 2011 Maui Film Festival, the critically acclaimed movie follows MIT student Rhoda Williams (Brit Marling) as the budding astrophysicist's world tragically collides with that of composer John Burroughs (William Mapother) on the same night a duplicate of Earth is discovered in our solar system. The young woman considers visiting the newly discovered planet to find out if her mirror self leads a better life.

Opening in select theaters on July 22, this compelling feature will have filmgoers pondering the idea that their double is somewhere out there. The gripping, tragic storyline complements the science fiction/fantasy angle, creating a thought-provoking film.
