Hey ladies, your lady parts are probably normal, even if they don’t follow the rules for “normal” that you were taught in school, writes anthropologist Kate Clancy. For instance, back in junior high, most of us learned that a woman’s menstrual cycle lasts for 28 days. So what does that mean for those of us whose menstrual cycles are longer or shorter? Basically, I’m OK and you’re OK. Clancy explains that both genetics, and lifestyle and environmental factors, can alter the length of your cycle. In fact, the lifestyle and environmental factors might matter more.
