notepad.cc is one of those ideas that’s so supremely simple it actually suffers in the description. So just go here now (I’ll wait):

There are other services that do much the same thing, but none I’ve found is as clean and easy to grasp. It’s so beautifully minimal that I had to dig a little to discover who’s behind it: Jacob Bijani, Tumblr’s Creative Director. He’s also the guy behind start.io.
I’m not sure yet what notepad.cc is for; I suspect it’s one of those tools whose value you uncover as you kick its tires. It’s a good way to stash a bit of text in the cloud, securely or otherwise (pages can be password-protected; share the actual URL and the page is editable by anyone who visits, or use an alternate “Share” URL and it’s not). It may simply be a cool little coding exercise that’s been released into the wild to flourish or die. Either way, I’m looking forward to playing with it.
