Kristie Lu Stout, our new guest blogger!

I'm excited to introduce my friend and former Wired colleague, Kristie Lu Stout, as our new guest blogger!

Hello from Hong Kong!

My name is Kristie Lu Stout (the "Lu" is Chinese, as in é¯), but please call me Kristie. I'm an anchor/correspondent for CNN International — the foreign cousin of CNN US.

I've been working at the network for almost a decade. Various assignments have taken me to Banda Aceh, Indonesia after the Indian Ocean tsunami, Beijing in the run up to the 2008 Olympic Games, and Seoul for a one-on-one with Snuppy — the world's first cloned dog.  It's been quite the adventure, and I feel very lucky to have been along for the ride.

At the moment, I'm anchoring CNNi's World Report which airs every weekday at 8pm HKT/7amET. It's a live broadcast, so anything can be thrown my way — from AfPak militant strikes to a Nobel Peace Prize address. And yes, I'm usually live tweeting throughout the cycle.

I'm a firm believer in technology as a great enabler, especially in the news biz. If there's an app or piece of hardware out there to enhance my presentation or better convey the drama of a story, I want to know about it! Any tips? Please email me.

When I'm not anchoring or reporting, I enjoy having tea and conversation with friends, exploring the great Chinese restaurants of Hong Kong, and playing simple sonatinas on the piano. I'm also a new mom, trying valiantly to raise a toddler who can say "thank you" in both Mandarin and English… and not to cry when I pry my iPhone from her hands.

I'm thrilled to be guest blogging on Boing Boing! Fingers crossed, the next two weeks should be fun as we have the Lunar New Year and Valentine's Day ahead.

Welcome, Kristie!
