Hugo Award nominations open

If you attended last year's World Science Fiction Convention in Montreal or have registered for this year's WorldCon in Melbourne, you're eligible to nominate works for the Hugo Awards. The five-most-nominated works in each category will be shortlisted for the final ballot, which is sent out to this year's attendees. I was honored to be nominated twice last year, and I've got high hopes for this year, too! For the record, my eligible 2009 publications are:

Novel: Makers, Tor, October 2009
Short story: To Go Boldly, in The New Space Opera 2, edited by Gardner Dozois and Jonathan Strahan, Eos, June 1999
