Yesterday I posted a video that shows how to open a beer bottle with another beer bottle. The guy who demonstrated the method explained that it was the Scandinavian way to open beer bottles.
In a matter of minutes, email starting pouring in from outraged Germans who claim that Germans, not Scandinavians, invented the technique. As proof, German Stefan Lampert pointed to this German “blog dedicated to the art of
opening a bottle of beer.” My favorite is the one that uses an espresso portafilter to open a bottle. Link

Here’s the best way I discovered to open a bottle.
We invented it as kids while living on the hard streets of Carmichael,
CA. If anybody writes in to tell you otherwise, you can let them know
that they’re wrong. You had mentioned your lament that you don’t drink beer, well maybe
you should give Jarritos a try. They require the same amazing bottle
skillz as those wacky beer drinkers.
