NPR’s Alex Chadwick interviewed blogger and combat correspondent Kevin Sites here in LA today. Their conversation will air on tomorrow’s edition of the program Day to Day. I was present in the control room during the taping, and this was a pretty amazing exchange about the future of media, the responsibilities of reporters, and exactly what happened before, during, and after the so-called “Fallujah mosque shooting.” This will be the first interview Sites has done in American broadcast media since the incident. From the show preview:
His footage of a U.S. Marine shooting and killing an injured Iraqi in a Fallujah mosque caused an international outcry and led to a military investigation. That Marine was cleared of any wrongdoing last week.
Link to show home. Archived audio — and some never-before-aired video — will be online Tuesday after 12PM PT. This is one not to miss. (disclosure: I wasn’t involved in production of this interview, but I’m a contributor to the show. I also helped Sites create and maintain his blog)
