The National Post, Canada's upstart, right-wing newspaper is in trouble. Publisher Conrad Black (a pipsqueak Canuck version of Rupert Murdoch) is stepping down and walking away from hundreds of millions in red ink. The Post is like a cross between the Wall Street Journal and USA Today: Glossy, with good, glossy reportage on tech and culture, but with a sometimes vicious right-wing editorial slant (they wooed and won Christie Blatchford, a thug of an ultra-right-wing columnist, away from the fishwrap rag The Toronto Sun).
